Westmoreland Mine Chute Pad Removal and Replacement
Forward Concept Construction undertook a critical project at Westmoreland Mine involving the removal and replacement of the Reject Chute Pad. The existing pad had become a safety concern and was impeding production operations. FCC initiated the project with the demolition of the old pad and subsequently installed a new infrastructure solution. This included laying down 1 meter thick train ballast and geo fabric for stabilization, followed by the construction of a robust 400mm thick slab on grade. This comprehensive approach not only addressed safety and operational issues but also showcased FCC’s capability in executing complex industrial construction projects with a focus on efficiency, safety, and durability.
